The excitement of Christmas has gone but the effects of overindulgence have affected our waistlines throwing us into the turmoil of the January blues. We set New Year resolutions to be fitter and healthier than before but how often do you keep and achieve these resolutions? Research shows that only 8% of people who make New Year's resolutions are able to succeed at them entirely to their satisfaction.
This year we want to increase the percentage and help you achieve your goals by turning a dark dreary January into a bright healthier future. Let's take a look at how we can help you succeed.
How often does your mood change when you hear music dependant on the type of vibe it gives off? Start by creating a playlist on your mobile phone, laptop or tablet of uplifting music. Play it daily, play it loud, sing and dance and see how your mood uplifts.
Exercise is a great reducer of stress and helps to improve sleep, releasing those happy endorphins you can work your way to a leaner and fitter body with just simple light exercise to work alongside your weight loss plan.
It is so easy to shut ourselves away in the colder months and hide underneath blankets and keep the curtains closed. Bring light into your day, open those curtains, and introduce brighter furnishings such as light coloured fabrics. Get out of those PJ's and into some comfortable bright clothing. Enjoy the great outdoors. It may still be cold but wrap up warm and take a nice long walk maybe meet with friends and have a cup of tea and chat at the end of the walk.
Just by planning a trip away to warmer climates or spending time sightseeing can increase the mood significantly. All the while helping you to keep to your New Years Resolution of having the figure you want for that trip away.
Ever wanted to take up a new hobby but always put it off? Now is the time to start it will keep your brain occupied and also stimulated whilst learning a new skill or technique. It's this new found motivation for something different that will lift those January blues that we all commonly feel at some point in our lives.
Share with us how you intend to beat the winter blues and get 2019 off to a great start and be in with a chance of winning a box of 20 Chocolate Shakes worth £23.99. Our favourite comment will be chosen on Friday 18th January at 3pm!
