We received this honest, heartwarming and inspirational hand written letter from one of our customers recently, and luckily she has given us permission to share it with you all. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as we did.
Dear Slim & Save Support Team
As I am a non-Face book user, I just need to tell you my story.
If you have heard of “messing about on the river”, I was messing about on the “net” one day and came across this “miracle” ketosis. Well I’ve been on every diet on the planet and got fed up, so why not read this? It looked good to me, and I loved your logo! At this time I had the news my blood test was verging on diabetes, I was in a meltdown. Yet another body function “trophy” like the following; Heart – stent. Neck – carotid artery removal. Diseased leg arteries. High blood pressure. High BMI. Bad cholesterol. Interrupted sleep patterns. Plus, I suffered with very little mobility.
Pretty much what was “me” was gone. The only exercise I could really do was chair based exercise and yoga. Both advised by my COPD Respiratory Team. – Yes, I have trouble with my lungs as well.
So, on my next medication review I asked at the Doctors if I should try the Slim & Save diet, although I was over the recommended age stated in the guidelines. Happily the Doctor said “Just do it, anything was worth a try, and getting rid of the weight however it’s done must be beneficial”. There is a god I thought!
So, on the 13th January 2020 I started my journey. If I said the first week was easy I would be lying. God it was hard, but I did it!
I was as round as I was tall. So my 12 week journey into freedom began.
After twelve weeks my BMI was still high, and I’m still obese so I need an “aim”. This was: yoga, I want to cross my legs and lie flat on the mat.
I followed the guidelines and had my two weeks break. I couldn’t wait to get back on plan. I missed the flavours of the replacement meals and packs.
Air Ambulance will have to open a new place when it opens, during lockdown I have had a real sort out!
I have written to the Respiratory team Head Physio and told them what has happened, and I have not used my walker since 16th March. I do not wheeze, cough, and an hour a day with my yoga is just so lovely and so rewarding. My husband joined me this week and that’s just great.
I have just had my 78th birthday (naughty me) and now “ME” is back. I am going to continue to try and achieve my “old” normal 8st 2lbs.
It took 38 years to gain and I give Slim & Save 38 weeks to lose it. I send thanks and I am so pleased with the results and so pleased the Doctors said “Why not give it a go”.
Nothing tastes as good as slim feels, and when you cheat you are just cheating yourself.
I set little “aims”, kept a diary because I need to remind myself “why”, and remind myself how I love my family’s positive comments and encouragement.
Stay safe, and I do hope you have enjoyed my letter.
It's good to be slim
