With the recently introduced GDPR "General Data Protection Regulation", Slim & Save wanted to ensure we not only complied but offered our customers even greater control over their privacy and rights.
We welcomed the new regulations with open arms as we have always made customer privacy a number one priority and believed it was an ideal opportunity to improve on what we already offer.
Through feedback over the years we have realised not all customers want to be updated at every stage of the checkout and shipping process, but then other customers have loved the fact they are always kept up to date. Similarly for notifications, when we reply to a ticket, or request a Trustpilot review. We realise that being text and emailed can become annoying and should be something you have control of, so we are pleased to announce the following selectable userfriendly settings regarding notifications:
You can control all of the above notifications so you only get the emails you want (or none should you wish).
Again you have full control of which text messages you will receive from us. But please remember, if you turn off all of these notifications you will not know when we have processed or dispatched your orders or replied to any support tickets etc.
The GDPR states that companies should not hold onto personal data longer than is required, so in response to this we have configured our website to automatically delete accounts which have not purchased for two years or more. We do realise that some customers may buy through our Amazon or eBay sites and do not have an active purchasing account at our store and still want to use our weight loss tools, so we have provided the option to "Keep inactive account alive". With this option set to yes (green) your account will not be automatically deleted.
You can now instantly download all of the data we hold on you in a CSV format (can be opened in many applications from simple text editors through to Microsoft Excel or Apple Numbers).
We have provided the option to disable none essential cookies from being active when you visit our website. You can choose to disable the cookies that control your health questionnaire answers, delivery notes and location for DPD ship to shop features. You can also control Slim & Save sales analytics and conversion cookies for Google and Bing.
You can delete your account by clicking the button on the GDPR page and then confirming the deletion. This action will remove all of the data we hold on you excluding order history, live chat history and ticket history which we maintain for our records.
Logged in users can access all of the features listed above by clicking here. If you are not logged in you will have access to Cookie Control only.
If you have any comments about the new features or how we can improve our website or services further, then please leave your comments in the section below.
