In December 2013 I was feeling really low. I was the heaviest I had ever been weighing in at just over 25 stone. I struggled to keep up with my active son Cameron who was 7 at the time. I had lost out on so much being the size I was that I was ready to try something different. Slim & Save came up on my Facebook page as an advert that I may be interested in and I clicked the link and started to follow the page.
I watched other people putting up their success stories and was in awe of the people that had transformed their lives and I was keen to give it a shot. With the full support of my husband, I took the plunge and bought my first order from Slim & Save in December 2013 to be ready to make a start in January 2014.
I took loads of pictures to keep me focused on my journey. The first week was hard but I was determined. Once I got past day six I found it so much easier. I followed the Simplicity plan to eliminate food from my diet, and stuck to the shakes and bars which tasted amazing and gave me my sweet fix that I still craved.
During my first month I had lost close to 2 stone and that was enough to keep me on track. Over the next four months I had lost over 5 stone and I my periods returned again. These had stopped because of my weight previously and I was devastated at the time. We already had one perfectly healthy son and felt blessed, but sometimes I went through phases of wanting another and thought that my time had passed.
In October 2014 I lost my Granda and a very close friend, and I struggled to stay on track until I got a phone call from a national magazine who wanted to give me a makeover. I was treated to a day in London and got loads of outfits to try on. I got my hair and make up done and even got some clothes to take home.
By Christmas 2014 I decided to give myself a break from dieting. I had lost 12 stone and had lots of events to attend so I intentionally came off plan initially for nine months, then I imagined I could lose the last couple of stone for Christmas 2015. However, in the October I felt a bit unwell and after taking a pregnancy test I found out I was pregnant and due to have a baby in June 2016! I was thrilled as I really didn't think this day would ever come.
Baby Joe arrived on May 30th 2016 weighing a massive 10lb 10oz. I have put a few stone back on through not eating well through pregnancy. Carbs are not my friend unfortunately and I was quite sick for a few months and ate carbs to take the sickness away, but now I'm ready to continue my weight loss journey and I really can't wait. I want my wee boy to have a mum who can run around after him and be fit and healthy for the long term. I am currently back on plan and hoping to achieve my goal of being at a comfortable weight I am happy with. I will update you later in the year with my progress.
It's good to be slim
