Why starting your day with Breakfast helps keep you on track

We all know how it goes, in the morning you get up, pop the kettle on, and then the mayhem begins!

You have to wake the kids up, and then you are all fighting for the bathroom, as well as trying to get your children dressed and fed, sort out their lunches, and take them to school. And all this before 9 o‘clock! Before you know it you have missed the most important meal of the day – your breakfast!

Did you know that in having your breakfast within two hours of getting up, you are fuelling your body and brain and kick-starting your metabolism. Without breakfast you are running on empty, your energy levels will be lower as you have not replenished your blood glucose levels which can also affect your mental clarity, your mood and your stress levels.

Research shows that those people who start the day with breakfast are less likely to be overweight than those who skip it. Breakfast can also protect against heart disease and may lower your risk of Type 2 diabetes.

It`s also an excellent opportunity to establish a great healthy eating regime with your family that will help set them up for a great day, as children who eat breakfast do better in school, and have better concentration and more energy and are in better health overall.

So make sure you find a little time for yourself and start your morning off with a good breakfast so that you are fully fuelled for the day ahead. I started every day with a cup of coffee. Then a good few hours later I would have something extremely unhealthy. I have never been much of a cereal person so breakfast usually passed me by. Don’t get me wrong, I have tried to have a healthy breakfast but after a couple of days, I would slip back into old habits. What I love about the vanilla shake is I can mix it with my favourite coffee and have breakfast at the same time. Good result !

My morning routine, us I have 500ml of water to start everything, once I've drank that I have my morning shake and another 500ml of water.
I find the water quite hard to drink so I have 500ml before any product and that way u almost reward myself with my product. Works for me and as I never ate breakfast before starting its really helped me with making changes

Working as a very busy health care assist on my feet for over 12 hours straight i need my breakfast else i wouldn't be able to look after my patients who rely on me so much :)

Well u start off breakfast chocolate porridge keep u full set u up for the day keep you going for ages u feel so lively exspcially if it cold with peppermint tea

I always have a really late breakfast and start my day with tea and water as 1, I'm rushing about as you said above and 2, I find if I eat too early then I can't stop!

Hi everyone. I used to have cereal every morning, and sometimes very fattening cereal. Hence why I am on this diet! The weight inevitably climbed up. Now I have a shake for breakfast which seems to satisfy me. On a day off from work I will have scrambled egg sns meal which I absolutely love. Sometimes I will add a quorn piece of bacon which makes it delicious. Love this diet as it's the only one that had given me quick results. Thank you sns.

We have breakfast at 7:45 everyday. I am a childminder and myself and the children all sit together and eat, it’s a great opportunity for us all to relax for a little while before our day really begins, I’m fuelled up for the day andthe children are going to school with food in their tummies ☺️

I never ate breakfast regularly until I started slim and save meaning by mid morning the biscuits from the office kitchen were calling!! I now start every day with a cup of coffee and a shake or porridge - chocolate porridge is amazing!! Sometimes I have pancakes and syrup at weekends- all on plan of course!! Followed up with a big bottle of water :)

I start with 2 black coffees to fire up the engines and at around 10am I have the gorgeous Chocolate Caramel Shake which is the tastiest, smoothest shake I’ve ever had. I mix in 80-100g of skyr to add that little bit extra protein and calcium and whisk! Sublime
